Will my child have work to complete at home in addition to the work they complete in class?

Yes, all students will have DAILY assignments to complete at home in addition to the work completed in class. 

How will I know what my child’s assignments are each day?

All assignments with necessary instructions, links, forms, and materials will be uploaded under daily titles into your child’s Google Classroom account. Our 2nd Grade website will be updated weekly with an overview of the upcoming week's assignments as well.

 

How do I access my child’s Google Classroom account?

If you are not sure how to access your child’s Google Classroom account please click THIS quick tutorial.  Your child’s Google login information can be found on their Usernames and Passwords sheet in their yellow Work Folder. Contact your teacher if you can not find it. 

 

How does my child turn in assignments?

All assignments will be turned in DAILY on Google Classroom or SeeSaw by no later than 3:00pm. No paper work will be collected at any time. Please follow the directions listed in the assignment description on Google Classroom. 

 

How will my child receive feedback on his/her assignments?

Your child’s teacher will be able to grade and comment on your child’s assignments in Google Classroom & SeeSaw. 

How do I login into our Friday Zoom Meeting.

Click HERE to watch a tutorial on how to login to Zoom. Links and instructions for how to join these video chat groups will be uploaded into Google Classroom. 

 

What if my child can’t make the video chat?

Attendance will be taken in each mandatory Zoom call.  Students are expected to be present for ALL live instruction or they will be marked absent. 

My child is struggling to complete their work, what can I do to help motivate them?

Be patient. Be patient with your child, yourself, and your child's teacher. We are in this together and above all else want to see your child thrive. THIS checklist is a great resource for different strategies to try.

Can my student take AR quizzes?

Students are allowed to take AR quizzes at home, 7 days a week, between 8:00am and 6:00pm without a proctor. :)

To take a quiz: 

1. Login in to the Accelerated Reader (AR) site HERE.

2. Click on the "I'm a Student" button. 

3. Enter your student's username and password (found on their login sheet in their yellow work folder).

4. Click on the orange "Accelerated Reader" button. 

5. Search for the title of the book

6. Click on "Take a Quiz"

7. Select the "Reading Practice Quiz"

Who do I contact if I have technical issues (i.e a site won't load, a mic or camera aren't working, etc.)?
